Gas Furnace Prices – How To Get The Best Value-For-Money
Posted on November 30th, 2009 No commentsWith the colder weather now drawing near, many people will be looking to replace their gas furnace with an improved, more efficient model. Gas furnace prices are an important factor in achieving a cost-effective solution to your heating requirements.
Make certain that you do not make the mistake that many people make and that is to select your new gas furnace solely on the basis of which one is the cheapest. This may be an expensive mistake over the long-term.
You need to buy a furnace that is sufficient for your heating needs and is not ‘over-specified’. Given that future gas prices are very likely to be higher than they are today, you should look at buying a high-efficiency furnace. Although this will cost you more initially than a low-efficiency furnace, the long-term savings on gas should more than offset the difference in price.
You will also need to consider the costs of routine maintenance and servicing as well as the guarantees and warranties that the furnace manufacture will supply with your new furnace. The availability of spare parts and how quickly these can be obtained and fitted also need to be considered to ensure that your heating is never out-of-action.
The current economic climate means that gas furnace manufactuers and dealers are desperate for your business. This means that there are some real bargains to be obtained if you shop around for the best gas furnace prices.
A new gas furnace is a major purchase so you should take plenty of time to ensure that you get the best combination of price, performance and economy that you can.

Olympic sports dropped and added
Posted on November 30th, 2009 No commentsAt the 2016 summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro there will be 28 official Olympic sports, two more than at the next games in London in 2012. The two sports that will be added will be golf and rugby. There were actually 28 sports at the Beijing games but two sports were dropped from the games, baseball and softball.
OK, golf is widely played around the world though it is a sport that is not exactly reserved for the masses on account of needing manicured golf courses and we all know how much money goes into that, not to mention the big bucks it costs to belong to a country club, take lessons and buy the proper equipment.
Rugby, OK, let’s have it at the Rio games, it is played by quite a number of nations though at the games they will have the rugby sevens, an offshoot of rugby played by teams of only seven players rather than the classic rugby made of 15 players on each team. I hope Papua and New Guinea will make it as they do have a regular rugby team, and the sevens is played by unlikely teams as Uganda, Brazil, Japan and Thailand.
I like the participation of obscure nations in the Olympic Games as that’s the way it should be. For example it’s good people notice Bhutan is competing in archery, their national sport, and they are good at it, or that Jamaica actually has a bob sled team, I think that’s great.
The American women cried that softball was dropped from the Olympic Games. The American team pitcher Lisa Fernandez actually complained the decision will ruin the lives of millions, actually billions of women, she said! Well, the American team was beating up on all the other teams so bad that the IOC had to look at that scenario, as was the lack of participation among nations to begin with, hence not sure where these billions of women she had in mind are to come from.
Archery was rightfully added as Olympic sport because indeed the sport is a one kind of sport that has been part of man’s skills globally, regardless of his culture, remote cultures included, for almost as long as man has been a hunter.
Related to the premise that global reach of the sport is important in order to add it to the Olympic program, the tug of war event, which was part of the Olympic Games in the early 20th century, then dropped, should be reinstated. In fact this is one sport which all nations should be required to participate in at the games as all nations can pull on a rope regardless of how poor they may be.
On the other hand, while tennis has been added it is doubtful the Olympic Games gold medal will ever surpass the meaning of a Wimbledon or US Open trophy, hence why bother when even the diehards of tennis care a less if Federer will win the Olympic gold medal.

What is CD Duplication
Posted on November 29th, 2009 No commentsYou may have heard people talk about CD duplication. Most people assume that it just assume copying a CD. However, it’s the technically duplication of optical media – generally the production of a small number of CDs from existing master copies onto recordable discs. This is common among musicians, software companies, and other groups that need to have a number of copies of their discs made.
If you’re a business that needs to have CD copied, or just have a personal project involving DVD duplication, you don’t have to do it yourself. Companies exist to do this job for you. When you go looking for a service to help you, chances are that you’ll be asked what sort of disc you’ll need. Not all DVDs are the same, after all. The DVDs used in small orders are different from those used in larger duplication batches.
Unlike tape duplication, copying DVDs doesn’t cause the quality of the copies to degrade. Since DVDs simply store data, and there’s no damage to that data in transfer, there’s actually very little difference between the original and the copy. It’s more like moving files on your computer than copying a tape. However, DVD duplication can’t make the copy any better than the original data you provide. There are some mistakes that can be made, which can hurt the quality of your copied DVDs. The best way to avoid these is to make sure you’re working with a quality DVD duplication company. Beware of offers that seem too cheap to be real. Chances are, shortcuts are being taken, which can hurt your end product.
If you need to produce copies of a music or multimedia disc, marketing and business materials, or just a personal project, DVD duplication could be helpful. However, whether or not you’ll need to pay an outside company for this service depends on the quantity of discs you want. If you require only a few, you can do the job yourself, using a quality DVD burner. If you’ll need more than that, paying for DVD duplication by a professional takes the hassle out of your hands.
Talk to the representative of any DVD duplicator company you’re thinking of working with to decide what options will produce the best quality DVDs for your project in the most efficient way. That way, you’ll be able to balance concerns about cost with those about quality, and get the best DVDs for your needs.

How To Speed Up Metabolism: Maybe You’re a Victim Of Metabolic Syndrome?
Posted on November 28th, 2009 No commentsMany dedicated dieters realise only too well that a damaged metabolism frequently leads to greater difficulty in losing weight and makes long term weight management virtually impossible. Looking for advice on how to speed up metabolism is all very well but how can you tell if your metabolism really is damaged or whether you are just kidding yourself that you are watching your diet religiously?
By answering the following questions, you should be able to get a fairly good picture of how likely you are to be suffering from Metabolic Syndrome, which is also known as being Insulin Resistant.
Take a look at the ten questions below and score 1 point for every ‘yes’ answer you give:
1. Do you find it almost impossible to shift any weight when following a low-fat diet plan?
2. Do you crave sugar or sweets and do you get a sugar-rush followed by a downswing in mood?3. Do you feel tired, headachy or anxious throughout the day? Do these feelings go away after a meal?
4. Do you find it hard to stop eating once you start?
5. Do you crave bread and consume more than one or two slices at a time?
6. Are you worn out constantly?
7. Are you thirsty most of the time?
8. Are you often moody, irritable or anxious?
9. Do you have a family history of alcoholism, diabetes or hypoglycaemia?
10. Is your waist to hip ratio larger than 0.8 (if you are a woman) or 0.9 (if you are male)? To work this out, measure around your waist at belly button level (in inches), measure round the widest part of your hips and divide your waist measurement by your hip measurement. If your total is 7 or more, then it is almost certain that you are suffering from Metabolic Syndrome, your metabolism is severely compromised and you are at risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes. You need to get help with this problem swiftly and would benefit from a visit to your doctor.
If you scored 4-6 then your metabolism has suffered a degree of damage and this must be repaired if you are not to develop more serious metabolic problems. Incorporating as many metabolism boosting tips into your diet and lifestyle as you can will definitely be to your long-term advantage.
If you scored 0-3 then your metabolism is just a little ragged around the edges and can easily be brought into peak condition by making minor adjustments to your diet and lifestyle.
Don’t gamble your health by ignoring the warning signs – you have taken the first step by looking for advice on how to speed up metabolism, now follow it through and take the action that will repair your metabolism, reduce your test score and show you how to lose weight faster than you could have imagined possible.
Don’t put it off – do it now before your risk of suffering Metabolic Syndrome increases!

Family Business Solutions
Posted on November 28th, 2009 No commentsIntroduction
What is understood by the term ‘family business management’? Does it mean a business managed by one member of a family or by many members of a family who are retained in the business? It could be that all the family members who are part of the business have an equal share of the profits and therefore have an equal say in the decisions to be made in the business. Alternatively it might be that the family member designated as the Managing Director makes all the business decisions without necessarily needing to consult other members of the family.
However the business is organised, the understood view of a family business is that it is owned and run by a family, and members of that family work together to make the business successful. There are many variations of how the management of the business works, but ultimately it is a privately owned company and all the profits are retained for the benefit of the business and the family.
Managing the Family Business
A family run business has many added dimensions to the interpersonal dynamics compared to a public company that can make or break the owners. The dynamics of personal and professional issues combined create an added pressure which can hinder good business decisions. Unresolved family conflicts will undoubtedly be carried into the workplace and impact the motivation and productivity of everyone involved.
I have current experience of managing a family business where we find it is important to have our different areas of responsibility. I am the Managing Director and main Project Manager, then we have the Accounts and Admin Manager and the Chairman who presides over the meetings and keeps an eye on the overall direction and functioning of the business. We have found over the years that there are some important issues which have to be resolved in order to work compatibly together. Mainly they are the issues around boundaries. Respecting each other’s different skills and trusting they can do their job well are key elements. If there are new skills to learn fundamental training is offered to ensure that person can do the job effectively.
It is important to realize managing any business in today’s environment is a complicated process but when you have the added dimension of family dynamics it can so easily get out of hand. One of the crucial elements to resolve is the historic patterns of relating between family members. Usually there is a lack of awareness that these patterns exist because they are habitual and familiar. However once they start to impact on the effectiveness of the business these issues need to be reviewed so that changes can be made and the issues resolved. One obvious example is where a child works with a parent. It is usually difficult for the parent to see the child as a responsible adult and still treats that person in the old habitual way. The child might then feel devalued, disempowered and impotent because of the old habit of respecting and obeying the parent. This will produce a lot of frustration, anger or even rage generating manipulative and destructive behaviour.
One of the reasons the series Dallas, about the fictional Ewing oil barons was so successful was because of the constant family problems that cropped up. They were a never ending source of material for the story line and never seemed to be resolved.
Our SEO department has become the growth area of our web site design company since we outsourced our sales to freelance sales agents, meaning I have employed family members to help me get the work done so we have much experience with family dynamics!
Leadership
One of the critical issues in a family run business is that of leadership. There has to be a leader whom everyone should be able to respect and is capable of making sound business decisions. If two family members are in a power struggle to be the leader then the business will suffer. I have seen this happen in a firm that was not between family members and it nearly brought the company down. Loyalties become divided and business decisions are often made for the wrong reasons resulting in loss of production and revenue. So when embarking on a family business the leadership needs to be decided at the outset. Once the decision has been made then the rest of the members working in the company need to support that decision and not undermine it.
There are different styles of leadership:-
The Autocratic Ruler -This sometimes works as long as the rest of the family are willing to do what he/she wants. But long term I don’t think the autocratic ruler is particularly good for business. When the time comes for someone else to take the helm there could be no one strong enough to fulfil the role.
An example of autocratic leader is the father of a family friend who was a successful plastics manufacturer. The son was encouraged to follow a path of water ski trick jumping and became a member of the British team. His father did not encourage him to continue in further education with the belief that the son didn’t need it as he would run the business after him. The day came when the son could no longer continue with his sport because of injury and settled down the work in the business. After about six months he had a big falling out with his father and left. The problem then was he had no other skills options open to him other than selling insurance. After about 3 weeks he returned to work in his father’s business because it was very lucrative and had a level of status for him.
The Democratic Ruler – will encourage each individual to speak about their area of responsibility or their view of a business strategy. All members will be listened to respectfully and their view considered. This way a full and fruitful dialogue can take place in order to find the best decision for any one topic. New or younger family members will be supported to learn the business and encouraged to broaden their outlook so they become another valuable asset to company.
If the autocratic father had been more far sighted and encouraged his son to further his education, then find work with another organisation for a period of time and left him the option to come and work in the company when he had gained experience elsewhere, he would have benefitted from a more mature, confident, creative and experienced manager who could have brought new ideas to the organisation and participated fully in all aspects of the company policies. The son’s enthusiasm for modern technology could move the business forward into the modern age. Before any children of a family business are eligible to take over, a policy of working with another company for at least two years would benefit the succession in the long run
When people say they want a web design they often think of the visuals and graphic design of the home page and have no idea of the complexity or setting up a website.
Conflict Resolution
Family businesses can be a minefield of unresolved conflict and resentment. It is important to find healthy ways of dealing with conflicts before even embarking on the path of family business management. When we first set up together in our family business we agreed that if we were not happy with some behaviour or something that was said, then we would say how we felt and give the other person the opportunity to retract it in some way. The most important thing for us was to listen to each other and respect the other person’s point of view. So when difficult decisions needed to be made to ensure the survival and the profitability of the business, discussion and argument, chewing over the policies and relevant information were signs of healthy processes on which to base sound business decisions. By discussion and communicating our individual views and ideas we were able to arrive at agreed actions for the good of the business.
Attitudes and Values
Being part of a family business means for the most part the attitudes and values are shared. In a regular company there are many diverse attitudes and values which generate tensions when working together. Listening and understanding each other is Key to good working relationships. One of the benefits of having a family business is intuitively knowing the other members and being able to trust them with your life if necessary. Even if there are disagreements you will know exactly the integrity and reliability of each individual. (Or not as the case may be!)
Well Known Family Businesses
When looking at the commercial world there are hundreds of family run businesses both large and small. Some are very well known companies such as the Ford, Murdoch and the Mars family, others are only known locally like my family butcher. But whatever their size there are only a small percentage of businesses which have been successfully passed down through the generations.
Rupert Murdoch the son of Keith who started the original newspaper empire in Australia, has built up a huge global network of media and entertainment companies worth millions and is still in charge at 77 with his son James as a possible heir. In the case of Ford the family now in the fourth generation own 40% of the voting stock but Mars is still 100% family owned and is not floated on the stock market. Frank and Ethel Mars started the company in 1923 and were responsible for inventing the Milky Way Bar. Their Son Forrest quarrelled with his father and the story goes that his father gave him a significant sum of money and said ‘go and run your own company’. He came to England and set up the factory in Slough making Mars Bars, later branching out into make pet food (Pedigree Petfoods) based in Melton Mowbray. His sons John and Forrest Mars Jr, were educated and trained to take over the business. When old Mr Mars retired he set up a small company making specialist chocolates so he would be kept busy while his sons got on with running the global business.
My local butcher Robert inherited his shop from his father who inherited from his father. The initial butcher had two sons who worked in the shop and now their sons run the business together which is still organised in the traditional way. It is very successful even during these times of crisis. The most famous family firm in the UK of course is the Royal family who live and work the business for life. There is a quite a revolution going on in the retail market today. Whereas shopping over the last 30 years has appeared to become a national pastime, many people are now turning to the internet to shop. So many businesses are waking up to the idea that if they want to survive the recession they need to offer their goods and services on line.
These days some websites exist purely to be positioned at the top of the search results by providing informative content and carefully targetted advertising to support the site and even provide the profit. One such example is http://www.presentsmen.com .
The issue of family pressure and entitlement seems to be a major cause of over 70% of family owned businesses failing to survive succession.
There is an enormous list of larger family run businesses in the world. Often the originator of such family firms build up the business from the ground and once they become very successful the parent hopes the children will carry on the business. Sometimes this happens, but more often than not the children show very little interest in working as hard as their parent. They do not seem to have the motivation or drive to carry the business forward and often do not have the talent of the parent.
A good example of this is the Mower family that produced the Neways products which they sold via multi level marketing across the world. They had seven children and the father, who was an industrial chemist, developed a skin product for his wife who had always suffered badly from Acne. Once he started doing research into products available in the stores he discovered that they were full of chemicals that, as a chemist, he’d had to wear protective clothing when handling because they were considered dangerous. From this beginning he developed other health supplements and through the network marketing they became so successful they made millions of dollars. The children of the family having worked for a time in other companies came in to join the family firm. The stated they would always keep the company in the family and it would never be floated on the stock market.
However as is the way of the world, success spoiled them. The parents suddenly separated and divorced. At first they announced they would continue to run the company together but in the end they sold it to a group in the Netherlands who now run the company. Although the Mower children had worked outside the family firm I always got the impression that they did not manage their departments particularly well and showed none of the talent and drive of either of the parents.
Inheritance
It may be important to tackle the issue of succession in the business especially if the owner of the business has more than one child. In many cases it is predictable the children will fight over the ownership of the business if it has not been made clear who will inherit. There may be a temptation to skimp on education thereby limiting the development of the successor. To avoid these kinds of situations one idea is to eliminate the feelings of entitlement. It might be just a matter of planning. Having a defined succession guide will enable the children to earn the right to succession and find their effective roles enabling them to work harmoniously together in the business.
Conclusion
Running a family business can be a rewarding and satisfying career with the added bonus of working in a familiar environment where trust is implicit. However family conflict will inevitably affect working relationships so it is preferable and healthy to separate business from personal matters. This allows the business owner to make decisions with less bias and more flexibility for the betterment of the company.
Even if all the members of the family do succeed in having a good business relationship, living separate lives outside of work with exposure to a greater variety of ideas and stimuli, which family members can bring to the workplace, will be of benefit. Probably the most important thing in managing a family business is ensuring that the whole family have a good relationship that will last even if the business doesn’t. Ultimately, blood is thicker than water and family is more important because the business can be replaced but your family cannot.

Body Snatchers fail due to Antioxidants
Posted on November 27th, 2009 No commentsTAHITIAN NONI® Juice blends the highest quality Noni puree from Tahiti with grape and blueberry juices. It contains amazingly strong antioxidants, help support the immune system, increases energy levels, speeds recovery after sports and supports a healthy heart by aiding the body’s natural defences against harmful free radicals. Hawaiian Noni juice
Free radicals – These are molecules or atoms with unpaired electrons that are highly likely to take part in a chemical reaction. Some free radicals have negative effects on human cells and have been linked to ageing and certain diseases.
Studies into oxidative stress caused by free radicals in the human body are at an early stage, but it is known that antioxidants play a key role in the body’s natural defence mechanisms. Antioxidants, including the phytochemicals and Vitamin C in TAHITIAN NONI® Juice, help the body by improving energy/exercise endurance, helping to maintain healthy cholesterol levels, supporting healthy/ proper immune system function and cardiovascular wellbeing.
The Vitamin C content of the unprocessed Noni Fruit is very high. Food safety laws require Noni fruit juice to be pasteurized. As with orange juice, pasteurization will reduce the vitamin C content, due to this vitamin being very heat sensitive.
Commercial orange juice producers will often add ascorbic acid into the juice in order to maintain vitamin C levels. Tahitian Noni International has never added nutrients to its juice products. Vitamin C is not the only significant antioxidant in Noni fruit/Noni juice. Other antioxidant phytochemicals are present in the juice, which are classified as flavonoids, lignans, and iridoids. These are called novel compounds, meaning that they are newly discovered.
It may be surmised in lay terms that Noni juice has powerful antioxidant properties, increase energy/exercise endurance, helps to maintain healthy cholesterol levels, and supports healthy/proper immune system function.
TAHITIAN NONI® Juice is a unique healthy fruit drink that successfully converts the healthful properties of Noni fruit to a palatable drink with a long shelf life. There are similar Noni juice products available, but none can claim the same pedigree as TAHITIAN NONI® Juice. The manufacturing systems Tahitian Noni International uses and the choice to include puree , not just the liquid that can be squeezed from the fruit is not duplicatable.
As indicated at the bottom of all our web pages, these statements have not been evaluated by the US FDA and these products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Our website has further information and ordering information for Tahitian Noni products.

The Highly Praised Louis Vuitton Monogram Miroir Collection
Posted on November 26th, 2009 No commentsLouis Vuitton is an enterprise known for its line of French fashion products. From their stylish handbags to their cool looking sunglasses, their line of items is respected highly in the fashion world. In fact, the brand is so strong that the Louis Vuitton monogram was designed not just for looks, but to prevent any counterfeits. It’s ironic that this known brand also sports the most knockoffs. That just goes to show how recognized the brand name is. You can also find great Rosetti handbags for great prices.
Taking a closer look at the Louis Vuitton items, their winter 2008 show line revealed the Monogram Miroir style of products. This style would breathe new life to the classic styles such as the clearance Coach handbags. The Louis Vuitton Monogram Miroir products all share an eye-catching reflective gold or silver coating.
With a firm rule towards fashionable trends instead of practicality, these items aren’t for the unsophisticated. The Louis Vuitton Monogram Miroir collection is no exception. Highly known celebrities such as Paris Hilton and Scarlett Johansson can be seen with this famous brand. Many models and actresses have even lent their name and image to be used in marketing campaigns. Surely, a Monogram Miroir product will make you stand out in the crowd.
If you preferred the Dooney and Burke handbags, the Monogram Miroir collection extends itself to a couple of types. The Pochette is the tiniest model. It is smooth and compact, and the gold/silver coat resembles a portable mirror.
The Speedy handbag can be considered the Keepall’s younger sibling. The maximum amount it can hold is slightly less than the Keepall. However, the Speedy still retains the same shape and feel.

Murcia Airport Parking
Posted on November 26th, 2009 No commentsOn a recent trip, a local business lady found herself circling her local Airport — but she wasn’t on a plane. Instead, she was driving her car with growing irritation, going from one Murcia airport parking lot to another, searching for an empty space to leave her car while she was gone. With no prior reservation, she came up short at the airport’s own long-term parking lot and she couldn’t even find an off airport parking murcia site she’d heard about from friends. Finally, desperate and in danger of missing her plane, she parked in the street of the nearest town and caught a taxi to the airport.
Anyone who’s had a similar experience knows that the hassle of flying can start well before you arrive at the terminal. The sheer volume of people traveling these days means that you can expect not only a struggle over the armrest and a long wait in the security line but also a battle for limited parking at Murcia airport. That means you’d better plan ahead if you know you’ll need long-term parking — especially at busy travel times like holiday weekends and Monday mornings. How can you ensure your spot in a crowded lot? Read on for our tips.
At the Airport
Your closest, most convenient parking options are usually the airport’s own lots and garages. Unfortunately, you often pay more for that convenience, even when you park in the more economical long-term lots. So, check around, find a secure and reliable off-site parking lot.In high travel seasons the Murcia Parking lot fills up quickly, and they won’t let you reserve a space there ahead of time. Some airport Web sites do let you check the current status of their parking lots before you leave for your flight but not Murcia. So if the parking lot is full, you’ll have time to consider public transportation or call off-site lots to see if they have any space. Seguro Storage has the best Murcia Airport Parking Solution available. Call them up, they’ll meet you and take your car to their lot whilst you fly. When you return, they are waiting at the Airport doors with your car.. freshly cleaned and valeted if you wish.

Holiday Inn Vacation Part II
Posted on November 26th, 2009 No commentsFor those who didn’t read part I, I’ve wrote that I live in an Akumal Villa and that I decided to spent Holidays with my boyfriend’s family in Merida; a near distance city.
After hours of nearly dying from starvation and having literally robbed food from the forbidden to not family members table, we had dinner, asked for posada (Mexican Holiday tradition) and fist hitted a piñata! I was beat! So I begged to be taken to bed, in the moment I missed my Akumal Villa.
Since we didn’t had a place to stay in Merida and we brought our dog with us, we decided to start looking for motels or any drive in hotel type where we could infiltrate our dog, since Mexican average hotels don’t accept dogs, in fact dogs are not welcome indoors anywhere. We finally found a holiday inn type of hotel where the infiltration was piece of cake!
Missing my family on the 25th morning was fatal, so I thought about my Akumal villa to feel better, somehow the thought of my home made me felt better. But it was imposible not tho think of my family reunions on the 25th mornings; were I would all gathered to watch traditional seasonal movies until lunchtime. I cannot remember feeling that way since summer camp’s infinite homesickness.
I needed to return to my Akumal villa for starters and maybe rent a season movie and take advantage of technology and meet my mom and brother over msn or whatever! I needed my family there with me.

Real Estate Help From the FTC
Posted on November 25th, 2009 No commentsAs people in the middle of deciding to buy or sell a house can tell you, the whole procedure can seem difficult. Many who look for the services of a professional real estate broker spend lots of long nights working to figure out who is taking advantage of them more — the broker or the mortgage company. The government information pack helps to sort it out.
You may want to surf to the Homes for Sale page to read more about buying your first home.
The Federal Trade Commission has recently issued a great information pack that helps new buyers or sellers with some often asked questions having to do with homes. entitled “Selling Your Home – Tips for Selecting a Real Estate Professional”. The information pack focuses on the proper amount you should expect to pay for a real estate commission, the ins and outs of contracts as well as business models.
While the information pack is a bit slim, with only a few pages, it does contain many wonderful bits of information. Under the section dealing with real estate agent charges, the information pack explains that 6 points is the standard, it is negotiable.
The information pack tries to nudge prospective clients to attempt to negotiate for a lower commission, since the broker is as hungry for your business as much as you need their assistance.
You can access the information pack by going to the Federal Trade Commission site at ftc.gov. When you are ready to buy or sell you may want to visit the Property for Sale site to get a good buy on a new home.
