• Are your carpets looking old?

When you have had your carpets installed for a few years then you will notice they start to look old and the colors dull down, that is usually because they are getting grubby after people walk on them in dirty shoes and your dog sheds on them, or you spill food on them etc. After awhile they start to get unhygienic, and if you have kids playing on them all day long then you don’t want them picking up germs off the carpets, the only option to clean them is by shampooing them, unless you want to pay for all new carpets of course.

If you decide to shampoo them then you have two choices, you can pay to have someone do it professionally, or you can do it yourself. An outside company will move all your furniture for you and both shampoo and dry the carpets as well, but you are going to pay a lot for the privilege. Or you can buy something like a Hoover F5914-900 which can do the shampooing and some of the drying for you and only costs around $130 at the moment from Amazon.com, then you can use it as much as you want once you own it.

Whichever way you choose then make sure that the carpets are fully dry before you start using the room again or they could get moldy. If you get a firm in then they will dry it for you, if you do it yourself then you need to extract all the water and shampoo from the carpet (which there is a function on pretty much all the machines to do), then use fans to drive the moisture out of the room afterwards to get it fully dry. This may sound like a lot of work if you do it yourself, but the end result will be well worth it.
